2008-06-22
HISTORICAL
AS1677C
This SAE Aerospace Standard (AS) covers the requirements for lower deck containers in wide body and standard body aircraft which do not require airworthiness certification under the condition of compartment restraint and/or, where applicable according to aircraft type, NAS3610 equivalent baseplate-restraint for these containers. NOTE: IATA 50/0, “Requirements for interlining of ULDs”, should also be taken into account when designing and making equipment.

GROUND EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPATIBILITY WITH AIRCRAFT UNIT LOAD DEVICES

1984-10-01
HISTORICAL
ARP1334A
Included in this document are requirements for conveyor systems, guides, stops, restraint hardware that are used on trucks, transporters, dollies, storage provisions, pallet build-up hoists, or other device-handling equipment. These requirements reflect state of the art criteria applied to known successfully operated hardware. Any design deviations shall be required to demonstrate equivalency to this specification criteria.

HISTORICAL
ARP1334
Included in this document are requirements for conveyor systems, guides, stops, restraint hardware that are used on trucks, transporters, dollies, storage provisions, pallet build-up hoists, or other device-handling equipment. a) These requirements reflect state of the art criteria applied to known successfully operated hardware. Any design deviations shall be required to demonstrate equivalency to this specification criteria. b) These devices usually form an integral part of the aircraft and as such are subject to regulatory agencies' requirements to assure structural integrity.

Fire Resistant Container - Design, Performance and Testing Requirements

2022-12-08
WIP
AS8992A
This Aerospace Standard (AS) specifies the minimum design and performance criteria and testing methods of passive fire resistant containers (FRCs) used either: a. In those cargo compartments of civil transport aircraft where they constitute one means of complying with applicable airworthiness regulations, or b. On a voluntary basis, when deemed appropriate by operators to improve fire protection in aircraft cargo compartments where airworthiness regulations do not mandate their use.

Fire Containment Cover - Operation and Use

2020-04-23
CURRENT
ARP6905
This SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) provides guidelines for the effective operation and use of fire containment covers (FCCs). Technical Standard Orders (TSOs) C203 and C90e (and later revisions) incorporate AS6453, and provide the Minimum Performance Standards (MPS) for an FCC design. The net and pallet used with the FCC must be approved using the updated net and flammability requirements in TSO C90e and later revisions. However, fire containment performance also requires this equipment is properly used. Fire safety is compromised when FCCs are used in an inadequate manner.

WIP
AIR4359B
This SAE Aerospace Information Report (AIR) provides information on the subject of Air Mode containers used for transporting "Hanging Loads" such as Garment-On-Hangers (GOH), or other roof supported cargo. It suggests considerations and recommendations for roof loaded containers to transport hanging loads efficiently and safely by air and to protect the aircraft floor and cargo system from damage due to overload conditions.

ENVIRONMENTAL DEGRADATION OF TEXTILES

1988-05-01
HISTORICAL
AIR1490A
Since the ULD device containing textiles should have a predictable service life, there should be data available so that predictions can be made. This technical report compiles available information on textiles of the types used in air cargo ULD devices and reviews the degradation characteristics of each. Textiles are used primarily in cargo restraint nets on air cargo pallets and non structural containers, restraint nets installed in cargo aircraft, and similar applications.
